*** The village project is in the early stages. While there’s no detailed plan yet, we are working on fundraising, connecting with donors and collaborators, and looking for land to make the vision a reality. ***
Growing up in a not-so-rich family, our founder experienced firsthand the sacrifices her parents made to provide an adequate life for her siblings and herself. Though they lacked luxuries, they were wealthy in love, perseverance, and most importantly, their Catholic faith. This faith instilled in her a deeper understanding of challenges and suffering, transforming her perspective and compelling her to help others.
Over the years, she has had countless opportunities to sit with those that have no homes, listen to their stories, and witness the resilience and humanity behind each of their hardships. These heart-touching encounters have sparked a dream in her: a vision of creating a place where hope is restored and new stories begin.
Imagine a vibrant village in North Texas, designed not just as a shelter but as a thriving community. This village would have small, permanent homes for the homeless, offering them stability and dignity. There’d be a workshop and farm where residents can engage in meaningful work, honing skills and finding purpose. Communal spaces like a chapel, a lush garden, a laundry area, a cozy cafe and bakery, a serene library, and a gathering house would foster connections and spiritual renewal. Guest houses would welcome visitors who come to volunteer or learn from the community, and a dedicated mental health center would support the transitional process, providing essential care for emotional and psychological healing. This vision is about transforming lives, one step at a time.
Dreams like this don’t come to life overnight. It starts small, with the resources we have and our hearts full of hope. Right now, we are pouring our energy into our tiny crafting shop and providing mental health services, planting seeds of change. But we know we can’t do this alone. We’ll need support, collaboration, and ideas from people who also believe in the power of community and second chances. Together, we can walk the path to building this village — a place where the forgotten are seen, the lost find their way, and dreams become realities.
To build this village of hope, we need your help. Every bit of support makes a difference — whether it’s through donations, sharing your expertise, volunteering your time, or simply spreading the word. Financial contributions will go directly toward essential resources like building materials, establishing programs, and setting up the mental health center. Let’s join hands and take this step-by-step journey together, building a place that transforms not just lives but hearts. Reach out, get involved, and become a part of something extraordinary — where small acts of generosity make lasting impacts.
